Hatte eine ziemlich ausführliche Produktafrage geschrieben (siehe unten, in der Anfrage wird auch deutlich, wieviele potentiell unvegane Stoffe enthalten sind) und nun, nach 4 Wochen, diese mehr als dürftige Antwort bekommen.. :-(

More and more people are vegan for ethical reasons and therefore avoid all animal products. As an animal-rights organization one of the things Maqi wants to do is disseminate information about veganism. Every now and then we get enquiries relating to vegan products.

It is not as simple to answer these enquires as it seems to be at first sight. Apart from obvious animal products such as milk and lard a lot of processed food contains hidden animal products or ingredients that may be of animal or of plant origin (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, vitamins and flavourings, to give only a few examples).

Currently your "Swedish Glace" is available in several German supermarkets. Hence we would be glad if you could answer the following questions:

- what are the ingredients (including these that do not have to be listed by law)?
- what are the compound ingredients composed of?
- what are the synthesized ingredients synthesized of (for example flavours, i.e. raspberry flavour, vanilla flavour, or strawberry flavour may be of animal origin)?
- what other materials are used in the manufacturing process (including any that are not present in the end product or are present in very small amounts)?
- all these queries relate to the packaging as well (e.g. glue containing casein for the labels)
- is cane sugar oder beet sugar used (first could be refined with animal charcoal)?
- do the flavours used contain animal products or are they gained from animal products?
- is the citric acid of animal or plant origin?

We should be grateful if you would provide us with the same information about any of your other products that could be vegan.

Na, der hat sich aber Mühe gegeben... :-)
Da frage ich mich ernsthaft, ob er deine Mail überhaupt ganz gelesen hat. Vermutlich hat er nach dem ersten Satz schon aufgehört (frei nach dem Motto: "Ok, die wollen wissen, ob da Milch drin ist") und hat diese lächerliche Antwort-Mail aus seinem "Entwürfe"-Ordner gezogen.
